Why this matters
2023 was a turning point for our approach to digital and performance marketing. At the outset we set an ambitious goal: to transform a group of talented digital marketers into the best digital performance team in the UK. And the signs are saying we did it. Our focus on mastery, autonomy, and empowerment has been the backbone of this transformation, allowing us to grow digital media revenues b a third in just one year.
How we did it
- Leadership & Vision: With Craig Starling stepping into the Head of Digital role, we channeled our energy into collaboration and incremental gains. Craig’s vision was simple: empower the team, make smart decisions, and drive growth. And that’s exactly what we did.
- Innovation: We didn’t just follow trends – we set them. From our custom-built resource management dashboard to our bespoke briefing tool, Leap, we’ve revolutionised how we work. We also developed Signal, a trigger engine that uses data to make real-time, automated decisions across multiple platforms, ensuring our clients’ audiences get the right message at the right time.
- Client Success: Our results speak for themselves. We helped Shutterly Fabulous achieve an 83% increase in appointments in a stagnant market. For Ordnance Survey, we recorded the highest monthly growth in annual subscriptions ever. And Wisdom Panel saw a 109% increase in new site visitors, cementing its position as a leader in the pet DNA testing space.

This nomination is both a reflection of what the team has accomplished, and a glimpse into where we’re going. It recognises our ambition and commitment to ongoing improvement. Performance marketing is by nature dynamic and ever changing, and without a culture of momentum you inevitably fall behind.
