The Drum Digital Census is a major piece of market research on the UK’s digital agency community. It reveals the best digital agencies according to industry awards judges.

As part of the research, The Drum polls digital agencies, their staff and clients to form a comprehensive picture of the UK’s foremost agencies for digital services.

The census looks at agencies most awarded, most admired by their peers and most proven to deliver outstanding client service. Those who excel in all these areas are elevated to the Elite List, which represents the best digital agencies in the UK. It’s a best-of-the-best ranking, according to The Drum.

Digital ad spend increases

The Drum’s Agency Census 2022 comes off the back of digital ad spend spiraling to £23.5bn in 2021 according to IAB UK, which is a 41% increase on 2020. With demand at such high levels, the need for UK agencies to meet investment head on with outstanding digital services from Tech and Media to Creative has never been greater.

The Drum census also draws on data from The Drum Recommends that recognises clients sentiment and rankings, industry-wide peer recommendations and The Drum’s other research sources such as the World Creative Rankings.

As part of the Census 2022, The Drum ranked the country’s digital agencies to find who has won the most – and the best – awards for their output. The 50 top digital agencies in the country selection was based on examining more than 720 awards won by more than 100 top agencies.
