About the role
Are you a born storyteller who can captivate and engage audiences through copy and create content? If so, we want to meet you! Anything is Possible is a vibrant environment ideally suited to someone who is eager, takes the initiative and turns fresh ideas into impactful narratives. If you have a flair for writing and a zest for engaging diverse communities, you might just be the perfect fit for our innovative content marketing team.
Briefly about the role
- Producing compelling text-based content for clients, which is optimised for users and search engines, including long-form articles, blog posts, category & product descriptions
- Helping to plan and execute content strategies for clients in a range of sectors, working with and under the guidance of our Content Director
- Becoming proficient in all SEO-related aspects of copy such as meta data, intent analysis, ideal content structure for optimal performance, leveraging opportunities such as position zero
- Developing a high level of expertise in industry-standard software (Search Console, Sistrix, AHREFs and Screaming Frog), as well as emerging technology, such as ChatGPT, to improve outputs without compromising on content quality
- Keeping abreast of best practices, through self-study and by learning from our established team of SEO experts. You will have the opportunity to share the knowledge you acquire with the rest of the team should you wish to do so
- There will also be the opportunity to widen your skillset across teams, writing ads for our Digital team, creating press releases for digital PR activity and updates for social media channels
Some skills and behaviours we’ll need from you
- Excellent written and spoken English skills. Although all your work will be proof-read and checked by other staff, it is expected that the copy you write should require minimal alterations. Consequently, you will need a strong grasp of spelling and grammar
- Evidence of your copywriting prowess – as part of your application, we would expect to see examples of your work such as a dissertation, blog contributions, short stories, or similar
- A base level understanding of current organic search best practice with regards to content would be an advantage, but is not expected – you will be given guidance and training in all technical and best practice areas of the role
- Experience in the education sector is a major bonus
- Commercial experience would help with your application, but is not a requirement
- Education to degree-level or similar, with equivalent to a 2:1 passing grade in a subject with significant focus on writing
